By accessing and using AcademiaSync ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

AcademiaSync is a collaborative academic task management platform that allows university students to:

  • Create, view, and manage academic tasks and assignments
  • Collaborate with classmates in the same section
  • Integrate with Google Calendar for automatic task syncing
  • Receive notifications about upcoming deadlines

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

  • Create an account with accurate information
  • Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
  • Use a valid university email address
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Post inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Share or distribute false or misleading information

5. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of the content you create (tasks, notes, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a license to display and share your content with other users in your section.

Our Content: The Service, including its design, code, and features, is owned by AcademiaSync and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

6. Google Calendar Integration

When using Google Calendar integration:

  • You grant us permission to access your Google Calendar
  • We will create, update, and delete calendar events on your behalf
  • You can revoke access at any time through your profile settings
  • You are subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Information provided will be accurate or complete
  • Tasks will always sync correctly with Google Calendar
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACADEMIASYNC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, missed deadlines, or academic consequences
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
  • Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the Service (currently $0)

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms
  • Remove content that violates our policies
  • Modify or discontinue the Service at any time

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
